One of the best things that we can do for our kids is get them out and active. Not only does keeping active release the happy chemicals into our bodies, but it also helps our children to be strong too. Being outside for exercise has another benefit, being in the sunshine and breathing in fresh air, that is also going to do wonders for your child too.

Eat well

Feeling stressed out means that we crave comfort food and kids are no different. There is no shame in letting your kids have treats on an occasional basis, but, this shouldn’t be all the time. Encourage socialisation

One of the biggest things that is having an impact on children is the fact that they are not socialising with their wider family and their friends. It is down to you as a parent to make sure that they socialise as much as they can. The simplest way to do this is to arrange a video chat catch up with their friends, perhaps finding some games that they can all play together and encouraging them to chat.

Teach them the importance of handwashing

One of the key things that has come out of the whole pandemic, is just how important handwashing is. This means that one of the key things to pass onto our children is how to properly wash their hands. Teach them the right way to wash them and also what the right period of time is. If they know, then these are the main steps that they need to take to protect themselves from any virus.

Don’t push the learning

We all know that learning is incredibly important during these lockdown times; however this shouldn’t put you, or them under any pressure. If they enjoy doing their school work, then that is great, however, if they don’t then don’t force it. Kids can feel stress just like we adults can, and this can have a detrimental effect on their health.

It should always be your main focus to keep your kids as healthy as possible. Especially at the moment, we hope that these 5 tips help you to know the right way to protect them and ensure that they are as healthy as they can be.
